In the 2009/2010 school year, the Black Mountain Elementary School PTO will be holding its full membership meetings on the second Wednesday of each month, at 9:15 am, in PTO Room 501. Room 501 is located on the north side of the campus, just north of the large ramada. Please feel free to have your preschoolers join you at the meeting. We've set up a special play area for the little ones in Room 501, and we'd love to see it put to good use.
Monthly Meeting Reminders
The PTO Executive Board will send a notice to all PTO members about each monthly meeting, along with our proposed meeting agenda, several days in advance of these monthly meetings.

2009/2010 Guest Speakers Planned
In the upcoming school year, we plan to have several guest speakers come in to speak at our general meetings. In September, CCUSD Superintendent Dr. Debbie Burdick was our guest speaker. In October, members of the Cave Creek Unified Education Foundation were our guests. This past February, we welcomed guest speakers who discussed BMES's Response to Intervention or RTI program, which you can read about here.

All general meetings of the BMES PTO are now conducted in accordance with the recognized and recommended procedures of Robert's Rules of Order. This standard and commonly applied parliamentary procedure will ensure that our meetings run smoothly, productively, and fairly.
More information about the procedures and protocols falling under the guidance of Robert's Rules can be found here. BMES PTO members interested in training in these parliamentary procedures should contact Lisa Wheeler, BMES PTO Co-President.
